Artemis Starship Bridge Simulator
"Out through the main viewscreen you stare into the darkness of space broken only by the outline of an enemy battle-cruiser on a intercept course. The torpedo banks are empty, your shields are at 15%, energy is low and your ship, the Artemis, is heavily damaged. Do you switch all power to the front shields, power up the beam weapons and head once more unto the breach to let slip the dogs of war? Or switch all power to the jump drives and make fast calculations in an attempt to FTL to a starbase to repair?
Artemis simulates a spaceship bridge by networking several computers together. One computer runs the simulation and the main screen, while the others serve as workstations for the normal jobs a bridge officer might do, like Helm, Communication, Engineering, and Weapon Control. Artemis is a social game where several players are together in one room, the bridge, and while they all work together, one player plays the Captain, a person who sits in the middle, doesnt have a workstation, and tells everyone what to do.
Feel free to come and join us and watch a demonstration, and maybe if you think you have the right stuff you can sign up to test your abilities as a captain. Feel free to bring along your own first officer too if you want help as the job of Captain is a heavy burden to bear alone."
